So long as they're Euro spec. There is markedly less interest in U.S. imports as they don't have certificates of conformity....

Do you mean that like new out of a box one with Cashemere leather, Auto, Polished alloys, 1 owner, superb Victory Red paint work, chrome kick plates, signed fuel rail covers by Tom Wallace, new 08 GM centre console trimmed in leather and carbon fibre look, Alloy pedal set fitted and only covered 14,000 miles? Do you mean that one Rob?

I don't think there is a better used auto version on the market second hand anywhere to be honest.

Hitting the search button and typing "ZR1 price" brings up a lot of threads. This was the top one from the launch.

No doubt, our friendly Vette dealers on here will be along later to sign you up for one - was that jetstream blue then sir? wink

Tony,

The official UK price is £109k plus options. With the new $ exchange rate, that is looking pretty reasonable now!

You are best enquiring to Bauer Millett in Manchester who appear to be the only official Corvette dealer anyone has had good sales experiences with.

They are going to be incredibly rare over here. 2 for this/next year?

Good luck!

Tony we have a build slot for a car we are told would arrive around March. The car could be ordered to your colour and interior colour specification, would have a 3 Year/60,000 Mile Warranty with 3 Years Roadside Assistance. The price is £109,000 but as Mr. Yu says, with the current dollar rate you couldn't bring one from the U.S. cheaper than that, let alone have the reassurance of factory warranty on a car which has £25,000 worth of brake discs alone. If you'd like any further details please feel free to e-mail me and I'd be happy to forward some information to you.

The price is theoretically $109,000 for the lesser version. I think the properly trimmed version is around $130,000. However, these are all theoretical as dealers can charge what they like in the US. When the GT500 came out, it got marked up at $50000 or more on top of list and even after a year or so, it was still $20000. That was on a car being made at the rate of at least 7000 units a year so you can guess why $109,000 is a purely theoretical price.

Even Hammond had to pay $10k over list to get his SRT-8, a volume production car.

So any price is going to include that dealer mark-up. Appart from sheer bloodsucking greed, they do it to try to stop the car selling straight away as it creates showroom traffic and allows them to sell the lesser Corvettes, failing which, they make a huge wedge of cash from their very limited allocation.

Either way at today's money a ZR1 from the U.S. would owe you £100,000 before Duty, VAT, SVA and Road Tax. You'd still have a car with no warranty plus the extra hassle of insurance due to imports not being Thatcham rated. It's a no brainer right now.

If I was to buy a ZR1 the only place I would consider is BM right now. There is no way I would risk owning something worth that much without the proper support. If you are serious Tony I would jump in quick!

Thank you Martin, you're making me blush. I think at the point where you starting playing with power post 500Bhp things become expensive to fix, particularly on limited run cars. As such I'd be concerned about buying a car without a warranty, because lord knows how much replacement LS9s will be and I can easily picture how expensive discs will be to replace should you crack one. It's always better when GM's picking up the bill!

Just to confirm for those who are interested £109,000 is the all inclusive OTR price for the U.K. This includes Navigation, Custom Leather Wrapped Interior Package and Chrome Wheels(U.K. only, not for EU), Tintcoat and Metallic paints are not a cost option.

I totally agree. The same thing is happening in my game. The prices are shooting through the roof and to be frank, if you can guarantee the price even if delivery is in 3-4 months then if someone is prepared to invest in a ZR1 then he would be mad not to do it now. Actually the same rule probably applies for the ZO6 & C6.

I am having to work my imports from the US for example at an exchange rate of $1.40 at present. I reckon by Monday things will be worse. To think it was $2+ a few months ago.....! Still, I have warned my customers and put a bloomin' great banner on the home page to quite simply BUY NOW......
