Tom Wallace VLE for Corvette retires!!
Discussion
Tom Wallace will retire,
Tom was always down at Le Mans for the past few years when I met him seemed a really nice guy, Have to say that was a very quick run for Corvette with him, Dave Hill was there a lot longer.
Tom Wallace, the Corvette's chief engineer, will retire from General Motors on Nov. 1.
Gene Stefanyshyn, GM's global vehicle line executive for rear-wheel-drive vehicles, will add the Corvette chief engineer responsibility to his duties, a GM spokesman said Monday. From AutoWeek
Tadge will remain as the actual Chief Engineer for Corvette and XLR. Dave Hill was the last "real" Chief Engineer as well as holding the role of VLE. Tom "held" both roles too, but Tom quickly moved to the VLE role. My guess is Gene's title is just for the org charts and that Corvette may be falling from GM grace
