Hi,
I did search this great forum but could not find this info. There is a post on the MY08 specs but can't tell what's new compared to the previous ones. Does anybody know the differences between the MY06, MY07 and MY08? I am talking UK versions, not US. Reason for asking is I have started looking at adverts, so would like to know if there is much difference or not between the different versions ... or if it makes sense to go the "new" road. That'd be a first but ever so tempting now yum. Thanks!

Not much really.

07MY gained stereo controls on the steering wheel, slightly different valving in the rear shocks and a marginally better gear change. oh, and a nicer sill trim on the later models, and a first aid kit!

08MY got a further improved gear change, a new centre console and a new key.

Colour / Interior options (like a leather dash on the 08) have also changed slightly with each model year.

Le Mans Blue 06/07
Daytona Sunset Orange 06 (there are none of these as UK cars though)
Atomic Orange 07/08

Sorry James but you are so SO SO wrong!!!

All three model years drive completely differently. The 07MY did get re-valved shocks and some more sound and heat proofing through the centre console. By comparison the 06's feel very hard and crashy in their ride. The 08 feels like a completely different car as the bump and rebound on the car is softer, but the roll bars still ensure there is no body roll. The result is that the car doesn't 'crest' bumps like the 06's and 07's do. Combined with the steering rack change the 08 is the best handling Z06 yet. The stereo also got a boost in 07.

Thanks for replies. Regarding the gear change, what's the nature of the improvement, i.e. shorter / more accurate / softer gear change or does it affect the ratios too? The original seems to be very high ratio, so just wondering if they have been shortened or maybe if it is an option? Given the long ratios and truck-like torque of the 7L engine, might not need to use the gear lever too much anyway (on the road).

Gearbox is a new model, much improved over the previous model. Google for TR6060 transmission for more info. Wider cogs, better synchro's, uprated load capacity etc

Sorry Mitch. I stand corrected bow

I had forgotten about the sound deadening and haven't had the privelage of driving an 08 any reasonable distance. Put a sheet of sound deadening under the boot floor of an 06 and it is as quiet as an 07, but the shocks are still noticeably diffferent.
The stereo sounds poor in any of the model years and isn't worth listening to in any C6 when the V8 is far more tuneful.
