What age did you buy your first Corvette?
Discussion
I was 28 just sold my Cadillac STS and bought a 98 silver C5 got 5k off the asking price! (it was the same week as 9/11...) That may have helped me out a bit.
I went to buy a red one at Claremont but he did not want to drop a penny has in his words (Somebody had keyed the car on most panels so I have just had the car respayed!) And with that I noticed the masking around the lights and walked away....

28 on the c6 and 29 on the current z.....got my first yank at the tender age of 19.....a 1978 smokey and the bandit trans am 6.6.....absolutely fantastic thing and would jump at another low miles one tomorrow! got traded for a 1980 el camino which i never really bonded with and went to make way for a later shape trans am gta and then an f150 lightning which went like a rocket till it popped a plug and was never the same!!
I'm hoping that it will be 29 (next year)...
Seeing that I've been fortunate enough to do quite a few thousand miles in various vettes over the last two years [without any running costs] is reasonable consolation though.
Just trying to justify a manual C6 as a daily driver rather than my BMW 320d, which I am bound to be tired of after 12 months.
A red 05 plate coupe will do nicely once said owner gets round to buying a red Z06...

What's it going to be then James? Does busking work in Leicester or are you going back to mugging?Seeing that I've been fortunate enough to do quite a few thousand miles in various vettes over the last two years [without any running costs] is reasonable consolation though.

We're meant to be in a recession David - what's the point in trying to mug people who don't have any money? (which probably wouldn't be going to buskers in Leicester even if they did have it...)Fortunately, my new customers still seem to be spending money so a corvette is a possibility!
I wouldn't buy that one James, the current owner won't stop moaning about the stone chips he picked up following (or attempting to follow) a certain sticky-tyred black Z06...
As for the original question, I was 26 when I bought my black 1990 L98 and I was literally laughing out loud as I left my 16v Integrale behind on American Car Centre's forecourt!
