Now prices are out for the new Camaro anybody gonna trade their Corvette in for one next year?
I have to say they look great and will make a change to all the Mustangs, We may even get a new Trans-am? That may swing me into one!
The new Camaro is growing on me I have to admit. But I'd never buy the first year of any car, there will always be changes for the following year.I have to say they look great and will make a change to all the Mustangs, We may even get a new Trans-am? That may swing me into one!

GM has confirmed it and they will be sold from Chevrolet dealers from 2010, Let me know if you want one??
Jetstream blue sadly not an option on the Camaro but hey looks good on a Vette,If you could buy one.
Do you work for GM?Jetstream blue sadly not an option on the Camaro but hey looks good on a Vette,If you could buy one.
If so what's been confirmed for the UK? Although RHD American muscle sort of seems wrong to me...

So what are the prices then? And how can they announce firm pricing so far ahead of launch?I have to say they look great and will make a change to all the Mustangs, We may even get a new Trans-am? That may swing me into one!
RHD confirmed? All engine variants?
Info please Rob!
I definitely won't replace the Z06 with one, but I might replace the GT-R with one...
US prices and spec options are here:
www.chevrolet.com/camaro/
start at $22,995 (!)
there's a colo(u)r chart too, but not this colo(u)r which would be my choice:

Yup, I'm seriously considering trading in my 'Vette for a new Camaro. Had my C5 for nearly 3 years now, so could do with a bit of change, and it would be nice to be able to take both wife AND little sprog out at the same time! Having said that, I won't be ordering a brand new one, so I'll let things settle for a while, and wait until the first ones start appearing on the used market. And in a way I hope they're not available in RHD 'cos that will maintain their exclusivity on this side of the pond.
Of course, it may take a little while for Gen5 Camaros to start to appear on Autotrader so in the meantime I'll need something to fill the gap. I really wanted to love the new Challenger but the styling doesn't quite hit the mark for me - I realise it's deliberately reminiscent of the original '70 Challenger in the same way that the latest Mustang and Camaro hark back to their respective '60s originals, but I don't think Dodge have been as successful as Chevy in that respect. So, maybe I'll squeeze in another 'Vette while I'm waiting for the Camaro...

I have been seriously considering a new SS Camaro, but the lack of specific information from GM and the laughable lack of knowledge displayed by their dealers makes it quite difficult to move forward.
As yet, there is no solid price information and no confirmed dealer delivery dates ('early 2009' is a bit ambiguous for people who want to place a firm order).
My local dealer is staffed by a bunch of half-wits at the best of times, but they seem utterly clueless. They say that they are accepting orders, but don't know when they will have any inventory, what the model-split will be - or what happens to the 3 grand deposit if the launch program gets delayed/doesn't happen - or if the dealer goes tits-up between now and whenever the car is launched.
The guy I talked to didn't know anything about the car (wasn't sure that the SS even had an 8cyl motor). I can't find any confirmation that production build has even begun yet. If you examine the website linked in this thread, it's all a bit nebulous. I really hope GM's business problems don't lead to a moth-balling of the roll-out.
Earlier in the year GM crowed about how their dealers would have good stocks of the Camaro (taking a bit of a swing at Chryslers staggered launch of Challenger), but I'm suspicious of the lack of facts and the over-use of words like 'scheduled to be' and 'should' and 'anticipated'. This car was originally supposed to be in showrooms this coming January. I'm not holding my breath

Other than saying the Camaro will appear in RHD in 2010, nothing else has been confirmed. I've asked a LOT of people and been active on the Camaro5 forums since they opened.
In fact, I was told only to expect the SS (V8) with limited options - a bit like the Monaro when it arrived in Vauxhall dealers.
Ho hum - we'll see how bad it gets for GM and see it cancelled like the Challenger.
