Not a great lover of American muscle cars myself, but thought you guys might appreciate this photo I took recently of my friend's Z06.

Love the photo, in your honest opinion how did the Vette perform, in the Swiss Alps?

I've no idea Tadek, I didn't get to have a drive ;o)

Seriously, I think driving on those roads was all about staying within your own comfort zone. I'm pretty sure that any of our cars could have been driven quite a bit harder by anyone with more confidence and the skill to go with it.

I really enjoyed all the drives over the passes we did, and I know I wouldn't have enjoyed them any more if I had been able to drive them any faster. After all, you need to take your eyes off the road from time to time to enjoy the scenery.

How did you feel in the car on those roads?

The drive across the Alps was most exhilarating and an endurance test for both, man and machine. From a personal experience the Vette certainly had the power when needed, faster the the Lamborghini which we were considering to take, but then the Vette has been supercharged, giving us well over 600bhp. The one downside was on the hairpin bends, it just did not have the same flexibility as the Lambo has, or maybe, I lacked the confidence in maximising the vehicles optimum capabilities. As you say, somebody with greater nerve and experience (like Mitch M) would well outperform the average driver on this route. From an accountants point of view, the Vette was certainly more economical then I ever imagined it to be. The 2000+ miles we covered,(consisting of hard driving) returned an average of 25mpg. which is much more then the Lambo would ever give us. As far as crowd appeal is concerned, the Lambo wins hands down, whenever we stopped all eyes turned to the Lamborghini's, maybe the loud colours/exhaust noise had some bearing also. Hope that you are still driving your GT about, even though the standards here in the UK are so different.

Have to say that if I was to do another trip next year, I think I would base it around that hotel in Switzerland, and spend more time enjoying the nearby passes.

I haven't worked out how much fuel we used, as I don't like to see a grown man cry (i.e. me!)
