Even Hertz do them! Specialist companies usually end up being much more expensive, but Google is your friend.

For the West Coast in August a nice convertible would be ideal, even better if it has the paddle shift automatic for cruising and pushing it on the canyon roads.

Ooh nice! You get a painted hood liner (and a light? I thought they were deleted from '07 onwards, or was that just for Z06s?) and a full width racing spoiler as well as the snazzy paint scheme, badges and wheels.

Unfortunately you also get the Hertz Always Lost sat nav. Factory nav would have been much nicer, but all in all a nice package. Shame I never fly to the US without wife and kid in tow...

I did find the Hertz sat nav a bit of a challenge too.

Thanks for the input guys.
Regarding Sat Nav, I will take my own TomTom with me, it worked fine in Oregon this year.

Cheers

Rented a Corvette convertible in June from Hertz at the Paris Hotel in Las Vegas. Drove it to the Grand Canyon, down Route 66 etc - did from 8am to 2 am in the car (my wife does not drive) and felt great.

I thought I would do the 'US thing' and get something decent (last time I had a Mustang).

I was gobsmacked - absolutely loved it and even my wife, who hates wedge shaped cars (check), yellow cars (check) and convertibles (check) loved it too.

And that noise *laughing*

If I was in the market to spend that sort of money, I would buy one in a second.

Hertz and Avis do them now but they are not cheap!

$690 for two days, unlimited miles, two drivers, full insurance coverage, excess waiver etc etc

About £300 or £150 per day - I would call that a bargain for the performance, what it is and the unlimited miles and insurance.

The same here in the UK would be a lot lot more!

Watch paying for the insurance, many credit cards give you coverage.
