Yeah, I don't see any way in which the relatively high production (and cheap) C5 Z06 was a successor to the C4 ZR1.
Of course performance was similar, with the Z06 having the edge, but it is a much newer car.

It would be like Ferrari saying the 430 Scuderia is the successor to the Enzo, just because it is faster aroumd Fiorano.
