The engine check light has come on, on the Vette.I have had a fault code reader plugged in.And its showing as an open circuit on No1 cooling fan. Both fans and connections are ok,and the fans are coming as normal.

Anyone with any ideas on how to extinguish the light?.

Thanks for any help given.

Check the connectors , they might look ok but the pins inside connector are loose. Check the fans for on/off temps. The PCM commands the low speed fans ON at 108°C and OFF at 103°C, high speed fans ON at 113°C and OFF at 108°C .
If they work ok at those temps they might have to low voltage = loose connection or jumping relay. P0480 if this is your IPC code means relay 1 for cooling fan. There are 3 fuser controling cooling fans and relays : Minifuse 14, Maxifuses 46 and 49. Try to reset the code and see what happends.

But as far as i can see :1 Loose connection or 2 cooling fan relay.

smile yep

Turn the ignition on or start the engine. Reset all messages ( boot open , door open etc) Hold option button and at the same time press fuel button 4 times. On the screen You`ll have diagnostic and the dic will show categories one after another now "trip" button is arrow up and "option" is arrow down. You can brower categories and see where You have error codes. Once You`ll find the one with the code. Press "gages" or "fuel" which work as arrow up and down in codes "subfolder" wink Hope it hepls.
