I'm considering joining the Corvette fold and was really drawn to a C6 Victory Edition I found on PH that is at Lodge Motors (it's on page 1 of the Corvette ads), I'm sorry but I haven't worked out how to do the link thing (complete technophobe, can manage the on/off switch and finding car stuff on t'internetbiggrin). Does anyone know them, the car or have any general buying advice?

I'm sure you chaps have been asked these sort of questions alot so apologies if that's the case.

Oh and I've been following the Stratstones threads and assumed that outside of the south east (I'm in the midlands) everyone would recommend the guys in Manchester for servicing, upgrades etc?

Thanks in anticipationsmile

If you ring Steve at Wavendon (01908288658) he will be able to tell you if he pdi'd the car and which dealer sold it.
If that dealer still exists then they might be of use to you.
There are only about 4 black auto VE cars in the country.

555ST might recognise the registration number.

(Is this Chris Cs car Stephen?)

I don't think that it came from Park Lane though because the numbered plaque is poorly stuck on! Probably Leeds...

Thanks James, I'll definitely give Steve a ring. Do I take it from the number plate comment that 'Leeds' cars were less well prep'd than from other dealers?

Not at all, I was just winding Le Man up who is pon the forum as he used to run Leeds.

Most of the Corvettes were prepped by Steve then transported to the relevant sites. On the Victory Edition cars the numbered plaques were not fitted until the car was at the site as the customer may want it left off the car.

These vehicles also came with a framed certificate and a track day.

All of them have a reg F... as they were all registered at the head office (Nottingham), so there is no way of telling which area it came from.

It looks fairly good value. We sold these for £52,000 (auto).

Forgot to say that one of the Vicotry Edition owners also has an F430.
He prefers the vette (manaul though). He also has a 700hp Ford GT and previously owned cars including an F40, so knows a bit about cars...

Wow,700bhp Ford GT! That must be a handful, especially in the wet!biggrin

And thanks for all the info James, very useful. BTW am I right in thinking that you're the 'James' mentioned in the Strats threads, in which case it's great to meet someone famous!;),and I'd appreciate your opinion on whether it's worth dropping in at Stratstones Reading to look at their http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/407002.htm auto VE C6?confused

We did everything just that little bit better at Leeds than the rest. Problem was,we had to use Stratstone glue...
The only thing that sticks at Stratstone is the used cars.

I'm don't recognise that '07 reg no but I'm not very good at remembering them!

The Borla exhaust on the '57 car at Reading does sound good.

Don't know if they still have it but Corvette Park Lane had a new 2007MY VE Auto kicking about in their car park for ages. Might be worth calling them to see if a special deal can be done?

LOL at Le Man's comment, and thanks for the tip on the (possible) car at Park Lane. Does anyone have any views/advice on where to go for backup/warranty issues etc in the midlands? I assume my nearest authorised dealer would be Birmingham Stratstone...if it still exists? I noticed that their staff don't seem to last very long, is that only on the sales side of things or also on the service side?

Cheers guys for the help.

Steve at Wavendon is J13 of M1 - Is that close enough? If not they might always be able to collect and deliver the car. I know that they go to Leicester for one customer. Otherwise drive up to Manchester and David will take you out for lunch...
It was my mistake about the limited edition badge - It was actually the Reading car that I was referring to.
As Stephen said, a brand new but registered Victory Edition was at Park Lane after the customer cancelled the deal. I think this was because it had been used on a motorshow stand but the customer was not informed, and the drivers seat and sill had marks on them. I seem to remember that it is either car 001 or 299 and I am sure that the car will be in no worse condition than a 4,000 mile one.

This post is actually from me, but I have just realised that the computer I am on has been logged on to by another colleague while I was on lunch! smash

J13 M1 is not that far away, so that's good news, thanks again for all the help, a few calls to make this afternoon. BTW, real spooky that the false post came from someone in Leicester! How'd that happen?

I'm originally from Leicester and I am working out of our Leicester office today, but spend most of my time in London.

You could do worse than talk to a franchised dealer about the price of a brand new car.
