went to silverstone yesterday to watch he le mans series ,saw a couple of nice corvettes in the supercar paddock... fancy one of those.
there was a nice C6 and Z06.
after all the success they have had racing at le mans etc , you think they would push for sales in the uk,
especially with the gap in the market left by TVR.

A fair few of us do drive these cars however, from your sales push idea, please see the Stratstones thread for more information!

I don't see why LHD is such an issue, actually i'm glad it puts people off as it maintains a bit more exclusivity

I nothing against left hand drive, in fact i spent a year driving a pontiac transport 3.8 v6 se,
great fun, even took it to le mans in 2004. fab time.
then had a lhd mg zt 260, nearly 3 years ownership, which used the mustang engine, again made life intresting, never bored driving the beast, sadly i let it go earlier this year, car went to sweden.

My sentiments exactly

Actually I prefer left hand drive, it’s a good excuse for a road trip & that way you can have a blast through Europe.

old LHD stuff gets a renewable permit for several years,I forget the exact number,I think they have to be over 30 years old though.

I prefer LHD.

When you pull up at the side of the road you get out onto the pavement. Much better on A roads and motorways.
It's easier to judge passing parked cars as you're closer to them.
A common crash test is the offset driver/driver front on impact. If you're on the LH side you're a lot safer - passenger isn't but them's the breaks.

It's not exactly a mass market in the UK so I'm more than happy with LHD Vettes

People that are uncertain about buying LHD should listen to LHD owners, it's no big deal at all, you drive both hands without even thinking about it, it's a piece of cake.

The more experience you are in driving the less it really matters what kind of vehicle your in or where you sit. As for the pavement argument, its ok as long as its not a high kerb, or the door just wont open

europe is left hand drive, but the car doesnt sell in large numbers, i think 5000 was last years total, read that somewhere, car or autoexpress...
with the motorsport heritage that they have and success at le mans , you would think they would be shifting more cars..
all the magazines i have read praise the car ...
price seems competetive
would rhd help sales in the uk ?

proper american car you would not want in a right hand drive it would loose all its character.look at the 300 c and the pt cruiser and the jeep i dont consider them to be true american cars.i personally would not buy a z06 or viper in r/h drive.

What I can't understand is why all those Ferrari and Lamborghini owners are happy to accept a RHD car. It would be so much more Italian to drive from the passenger seat! biggrin

If they sold RHD Corvettes here you'd be punishing your wallet quite severely to buy a LHD one. Look what happened to those who bought the Blazer a few years ago.

The Camaro is coming in RHD. Buy one if you can, to encourage GM and others (think Mustang) actually to ship cars over here. The more they sell the better support we will get.

Of course those of us who have LHD cars don't mind at all, and there are well-rehearsed plus points (also in numerous threads on here before!), but it is the single biggest issue for anyone who is not dedicated to the car but might otherwise buy one instead of a Porker or whatever.
