I saw that. I find it amazing that Apple saw fit to include a multi-axis accelerometer, but only a 2MP non-flash, non-video camera!
As to accuracy, my G-tech accelerometer has a special cradle and a sensor to ensure it is secured absolutely horizontally, which I think is vital for a device without GPS measurement.
All the magazines use GPS-based devices.
Still, good fun for £12 and would be good for back to back comparisons.

There are a few PH threads on this already. As for accuracy, it seems to be pretty good. Check out this review which found it to be more accurate than a G-Tech....As to accuracy, my G-tech accelerometer has a special cradle and a sensor to ensure it is secured absolutely horizontally, which I think is vital for a device without GPS measurement.

Only problem seems to be that it doesn't handle rocking/vibration well when it's calibrating before a run...
Have you tried to do proper 0-60 runs in the wet Martin?
It's hard enough in the dry. I have a GPS Performance Box on my car at the moment, made by Racelogic who do the pro VBox and it's every bit as accurate apparently.
Just doing random fast starts on the road it's quite hard to get below 4.5s to 60, although I have seen 0-100 in 8.5 (on a closed test track natch).
I'll see what it can do on a quiet stretch of straight road or runway sometime, although of course Evo have already done proper figures on my car (when it still had the Lingenfelter kit on mind).

I don't care how good it is, you still won't get me into an IPhone.....
....you won't get into one 'cos your too big.....unless your winker is the same size as the headphone jack! There are faults with the iPhone, (too many to list) but I have to say my old 2G version does most stuff I want from one device. i.e. its a phone, its an ipod, I can surf the net and pickup email (okay I have to do this from the Safari App and not the Email App as I have a snotmail account).
The mapping works, the camera works, I can text etc. etc. all from one box. It ain't perfect but can't think of anything else that offers so much from one very easy to use box.
They are too trendy and too bad for texting, taking images (could it honestly be any worse?) crap battery life (and whatever you do don't run out of battery power 'cause your nice shiny thingy is totally useless), etc etc. There are far better 'phones for business use and about the only area the IGroan may excel is web browsing and image viewing. And as for my winky you are on the wrong forum to discuss. Please refer to: www.ihaveanenourmousone.com
