Just a quick heads up - I think this is the first time GM have done this- its on every car including all vettes even the Z06. Incredible deals on the whole range of GM products. 3LT vette coupe now $8k off, 2LZ Z06 $10k off. Better deals on the biggesr stuff, Hummers $14k off, Escalades $12k off.
Deals only available up to 2nd September.

Well they'd be mad not to in the current environment in the States. We did a search the other day for a particular colour and spec coupe, and there were 249 available across the States and most were over 150 days old. The inventory is horrendous so all the dealers will participate and it makes a huge difference.
Are GM Europe offering the same, or is just a US initiative? Knowing GM it will just be US I guess.

Clearly we are all doomed. United States — Population: 301,139,947. CIA estimate July 2007
Corvette coupe stock in a particular colour and spec 249, so that's one per 120940 per head of population.
With the end of the world in sight, I may have to take the weekend off to build an ark.

Far from doomed David!! Just that customers who do want them are today $10k better off than yesterday - but do feel free to build an ark, would be quite a sight!

wasn't trying to start another round of sparring, was just trying to be informative. It seems that any mention of bargains in the States seems to upset Bauers, makes you wonder why really ;-)hmm, now let me think about that one!

Hi Chas

Oh don't get me drawn in on that one - it's all good banter anyway and keeps the threads moving. Have you seen the home page of PH? What do you think about that stonking C2 modern creation? Now is that fantastic or what??!!

That is stonking!!! It is amazing what's being done by some of the modifiers these days,it really has got back to the good old days where passion took over and it seemed to be about producing the best product rather than simply about making money. It is a shame that the manufacturers are doing so badly that eventually there will be nothing worth modifying!! When Ford, Chrysler and GM share the same V6 engine with no V8s to be found it will be a sad day!

Given that I know what dealers are selling cars for in the U.S. doesn't the Employee Discount pricing just about balance out the currency shift Charles?! Doesn't seem to shift anything a great deal as far as I can tell.....

No more V8's? Makes me shudder with the thought. I was sad when TVR popped their clogs - I think I would have to book myself into a clinic if V8's were no more.

Mitch - I think it makes a good bit of difference but obvioulsy would be even better (worse depending on your point of view) if we were up at 1.95 again!! But given the discounts, a new Z06 for around early £50s is a very real possibility and stonkingly good value. Obviously your customers would rather the European warranty but for our customers it is a worthwhile saving.

300 million....divided by 249..... =....a bit more than 1 million.
