Hi mark
6500$ more less for the complete magnacharger with everything incl the tuner. Kenne Bell is more about 7500$.

You might want a new stall converter and for high bhp RPM tranny.

Good luck.

It would be worth getting hold diycerb, he is putting an sc kit onto his ls1 that he is putting into his Cerbera. The same kit should be good for the c5, give or take the bonnet clearances...
He bought the kit from monkfish and is doing the install himself.

Thanks for the replys so far.Ive been offered a version of the M90 Eaton, that has been used on a Range Rover Classic.I know i will need new base plates, and probably a different pulley set-up,but its very cheap, and virtually brand new.I was looking to get it installed before my trip out for the Cerberaring/Spa trip in october. But looking at it,i dont think there will be enough time.

or these guys http://www.aacorvette.com/

or these guys http://www.exoticperformanceplus.com/

all have done many superchagered vettes form mild to totally insane!

not sure of any UK outfits offering the service....

APS is a very nice kit. not very good customer service form what i have heard. TTi (turbo Tech. Inc) do a nice twin turbo kit as well. and there is always the STS if you want to be a bir different....;)

Went the centrifugal route, given that there was no Magnacharger at the time (circa 2000).

If I was doing it again I would go for a roots style replacing the manifold on the basis that they are more robust than a centrifugal hanging off the block (belt problems, tapping into oil pan etc).

Don't do this to an auto unless you are prepared to rebuild the tranny, mine lasted 200 miles.

Cannabalising another set up might be tricky since you can't avoid reprogramming. Sounds like you will have to do this yourself, so that's EFI Live or HP Tuners. Take the opportunitiy to fit a 2 bar MAP, this will be very useful for the programming.

Depending on power output (say more than 6 psi boost) you might need additional fuel pump, maybe get away with larger injectors (but again needs programming).

Intake temperatures have been an issue since I've no intercooler.

Lots of teething problems but very happy when it's working.

I have the ATI Stage 11 Procharger on my Z which produces 613hp at the f/w -untuned....
It was a relatively straightforward installation once you get over the fact that the instructions seem to be a literal translation from mandarin.

I got my set up from Texas Exports who sorted the whole kit and caboodle including providing help with import duty.
The Procharger is a centrifugal blower and comes with twin intercoolers ( which really work well) and a self contained oiling unit (no drilling into oil pans or extra lines).I went up to 38 lb injectors as I have longtube headers. I've had a few problems with a noisy belt which was cured with a gator belt plus a bit more tension. The other, more worrying defect related to the Diablo Predator flash tuning programme supplied by ATI. This provides a blower tune for the ECU so that the engine recognises it's now the proud owner of a super charger. The tune on my programmer cheerfully erased all the rev limiter settings and, being a centrifugal charger, the power builds with revs and believe me the revs build dam quick. So beware.
I installed a methanol injection system too but until I have retuned the ECU I keep it turned off as it pulls the hp down !
Other than that the only down side is the inevitable increased wear in your rear tyres and coping with the distressed expressions of drivers in their "supercars" as they get blown into the weeds when I press the loud pedal....

Here's the link.
http://www.procharger.com/c5_corvette.shtml

Cost are £3-4K depending on £/$.

I have P-1SC-1. I looked at the D but felt that the "milder" P version would do for the moment. Frankly the acceleration is so brutal you really have to hang on for dear life when the pedal is floored. Traction is a joke, even with my super sticky "track day" Toyos the tyres will break loose in 3rd gear. On the quarter mile (or any straight bit of road) you have to shift really quick to stop hitting the limiter as the revs climb so fast. On the other hand, and to answer Woofs question, at normal cruising speed (6th gear on the motorway) it returns 25mpg (US), which is better than my Scoobie. I have no idea what mpg it did pre-blower but I shouldn't think it was much different.

M90 is WAY too small for a Corvette.

Even the Ford 4.6 using a M112R Eaton blower. I think using a M90 you'll have a lot of problems.

If you want a blower, have a look at www.kennebell.net for a twin screw or ATI or Vortech for a centrifugal type. The Magnuson Roots kit isn't worth it IMO.

Personally for a lot less money I'd look into running nitrous oxide. Wizards of Nos could get you setup for £1000-1500 and you could run a 150 shot striaght off.

Combine that with some bolt ons (FAST 90/90 intake, LT's, exhaust, CAI) and a decent heads and cam package and you could see ~450rwhp n/a and ~600rwhp on the juice. biggrin

Check out Texas Speed & Performance for some of the H/ setups. With a manual you could run some CNC LS6 heads with a MS4 or Torqeur V3 cam

some good tips there 300bhp/ton!

i can give you an email adress to the offical dealer for Kenne Bell (KB). he is currently building a mad LSx 454 and a KB and is gunning for over 1000bhp. and his proces are cheaper than what KB will do you direct!

alternatively i know someone on here that could build you a pretty wild 427 for not too much cash. smile

Chris.

PS. dont push the engine to much past 600bhp if you want to be reilable. LS2 have taken well over 700bhp on bone stock short blocks but for how long is another thing! also make sure the tuner you are suing is good. it seems that with the LS engine the tune is everything!
