ZR1 Preview For Corvette Club
New Corvette supercar shown to club members ahead of British Motor Show
It was a ‘club first’ for Classic Corvette Club UK last night when members were invited by GM to attend an exclusive preview of the new flagship Corvette ZR1 ahead of the London Motor Show.
Over 70 Vettes attended the event at the Fairmile hotel in Cobham, Surrey yesterday evening.
This 6.2 litre supercharged, ceramic braked, 647 ps, 205 mph Corvette only landed in the UK a couple of days previously and is the only one in Europe and the first in red to be seen in public.
GM said that this unprecedented preview was a thank you to the loyal members of the Club.
Discussion
I really want to like these cars but those chrome wheels are nasty... look like the horrible bbk tatt you see on an old chavved up Toyota celica. Moving on, the transparent bonnet is tacky too.
I also think the interiors are crap... but at least that's nothing new.
Why couldn't they go all stealth mean looking... darker coloured car, graphite wheels, maybe a few (nothing too excessive) exposed carbon fibre bits, job done.

Enzo
FXX
Bugatti 110 GT
All survived despite LHD, one or two became quite popular I believe.
Japanese sports car buyers prefer to take their cars in the configuration offered in the home market so they like LHD Ferraris, but RHD Astons. When you drive LHD Ferraris, you begin to realise that they might have discovered something.

Those chrome wheels are optional, but wheels are probably the easiest thing to change on a car anyway and make a dramatic difference in appearence.I also think the interiors are crap... but at least that's nothing new.
