Just came across this advert for an early Red C6 auto for only 24k,

Makes me ask the question-> have the c6 residuals softened recently? I remember looking for C6s around 9 months ago and there were none below 30k at any age.

It does seem like a hell of a good buy if the car is in decent shape.

our 55 plate 2005 auto is same money and only 11k miles, so i m not sure this is that cheap. Ours does not have the glass roof though.

I don't think C6 residuals have ever been that strong really... With almost any car I reckon you do very well to get half your money back after 3 years (in fact, I never buy a car that I couldn't afford to lose 100% on just to be on the safe side!).

This one's a US import which probably softens the price a bit, and it'll be the 4 speed auto as well which for most people will be much less desirable than the 6 speed auto.

Yup, as a rough rule of thumb that's the way it works. Buy a new car every few years and you get right royally raped.

Just think, keep a car for 6 years and you're very unlikely to suffer the same rate of depreciation in years 3 to 6!

I've had my Vette 9 years so maybe it's going up again? Said the optimist.

I have found the early Imports are not as popular for a startyou get the XM radio wart on the top of your roof on all 05MY Imported cars as this is a feature in the states and no use in the UK. And you can not remover it.

You are right, that is annoying and I still find it incredible that they put it where they did. At least on the Mustang its relatively unobtrusive. Still for the money the 05s are exceptionally good value wherever you buy one. What else could you get for sub £25k that can give as much pleasure with drop dead gorgeous looks.
