There are several ways to this!
First method: hacksaw off the silencers!
Second method: remove the fuse in the passenger footwell that keeps the exhaust quiet below 3,000 rpm. It will sound a bit boomy but much louder than usual.
Third method: get an aftermarket exhaust system fitted. There are loads of different ones to choose from, I guess it will depend on your budget as to which one to go for. The Flowmasters on my Camaro are very loud, almost too much so to be honest.

Ahhhh!!! Oh well anything for a Goss plug....!! I'm pleased you think the Borla Stingers are good, I'm visiting Ian Goss tomorrow (another plug) for fitment of my new Borla Stinger 2's and X-pipe. There wasn't anything wrong with my BillyBoat Route 66 Touring’s that were only fitted earlier this year but some nice person drove into them and bent one of them up slightly. That was after I had to brake going around a blind corner to be confronted with a head on police car on the wrong side of the road (mine!) causing me to brake quickly. His comment "blimey that thing stopped quick" sort of helped..
So if anyone wants an almost new set of B&B Route 66's that will be STRAIGHT again, email me with a (sensible) offer. They cost me £850 landed duties paid. They are louder than the standard system and have a real roar when you put your foot down. No "drowning" on cruise either but lots of popping and crackling on the over run. Nice.

Thanks Guys!
Looks like some long tube headers and maybe either the BBs or Borla back box then!
If you're fitting LT headers in addition to an aftermarket exhaust, be aware that the volume level will be rather high, as headers will make the exhaust louder still.Looks like some long tube headers and maybe either the BBs or Borla back box then!
The old Cerb was about 134 decibels so bring it!
The quickest and cheapest way surely is to fit some electric cut-outs?
From what I understand they basically open the exhaust to open air just after the manifold!
Should sound just like a C6.R...
As for headers v back box, my bro has just fitted B&B Fusion cat-back (switchable) and says my car with American Racing headers and stock silencers (also switchable) was probably slightly louder, although the cam in mine probably adds more noise too.

If you're going to be in Bournemouth, we could meet somewhere and you could listen to mine?? Let me know if you want to. C5RagTop said:
