Well, "it's about time that the Vette has some parts" I was thinking as I took my 110,000 mile C5 to the MOT station. Don't get me wrong, but only doing oil and filters and brakes for 3 and a half years seems a bit lightweight for a car of its type. Thinking suspension bushes etc...

So, one sidelight bulb out (mentioned before to tester) and handbrake feels a little funny - tends to rock slightly after application. Sure enough, the handbrake cable on the right side had broken away from its connectors. And that was all !!! Those decent guys at Carolina Classics had a cable to me in a couple of days, and she sailed through again.

What is it with these cars? With the most basic maintenance, they just plod on and on. I am obviously doing too many motorway miles and not enough hooning... Shouldn't speak too soon I guess, but it is amazing for a car of its performance how little goes wrong.

goes to pick it up and waits for it to throw rods out of the side of cylinder block

That's been the same for my 9 years of C5 ownership, albeit with lower mileage than yours.

These cars are amazing!
