And bear in mind £1.25.9 per litre for fuel with the government taking a whopping 70p a litre in tax.

More the point, sign up for this: http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/UNFAIR-VED

Even if it does no good it will show Labour just how angry they have made probably everyone in this section of PH, let alone most drivers in the UK..

Signed petition. Probably wont do any good with this government, but at least it expresses an opinion.

Everyone should stop protesting against this government. They might do something about it (short term). Then heaven forbid they might get re-elected.

I hope they carry on piscensoredng everyone off, that way they'll get booted out.

I've signed up for that ! If they think they can make it retrospective back to 2001 how long will it be before they make it retrospective for other groups and older cars ?

I signed, but with the benefit of an overnight event, I think that Labour will be aware that the majority of this country is angry with their poor performance and policies. The bad news is that they rely on huge amounts of money extorted from the car user to prop up their poor financial performance, so I can't see much changing fast - or when the next lot get in.

Someone at some stage has to change their view on what it takes to be successful in government. Move away from the popularity approach, to setting out an agenda stating that "to achieve these things that you collectively want, we are gonna have to hurt you in this way. Do you want to proceed?".. Hopefully, that will allow them to hit a few others, and not just motorists, drunks and smokers (all 3, me... with my reputation?).

Will not be holding my breath on this (or buying a newer car).

BORIS IS IN!!!! Beat Livingstone by almost 140,000 votes. Thank God we don't have to put up with that smug TWA!!!T Livingstone as the London Mayor any more. When I saw him snearing about Porsche in a recent TV interview I just hoped that it helped put an even bigger nail in his coffin. Lets hope we never see him in charge of London AGAIN.

Over to you Boris - all eyes are on you boy.
