Hi. gents.

Can anyone suggest or recommend a good trustworthy and reasonable fees, car shipper who can do the whole lot from the states to the U.k. including SVA and documentation. Have seen the Triton truck I want and will be going to Fort Lauderdale the second week in May to complete the deal.

The Tritons are rare in the U.K. so I have to go there to get one.

Thanks,

Jamie.

Ian Jeffreys at Schumacher cargo 01449 723576
He is at Felixstowe and can do it door to door for you, customs clearance and any shipping to and from the dock.
He does anything you want very eficiently and is a nice guy .he will get it off the dock for you and you can pick it up from his premises.
Ro-Ro or container.

Triton is the engine configuration i.e. it's a Ford Diesel I think.

Sorry, The triton is made by Nissan badge in America and only one engine for the range, a 5.6 petrol auto box engine. pashes out approx 330 brake and about 370 torque.

I have a Mitsubishi L200 4 life crew cab. but just want to up the power with the Triton.A lot of these trucks do a 13.75 @ about 96mph with a little breathing on.

The import duty is on the heavy side at 22% but I'll be able to claim the VAT back which makes it a bit easier to swallow. Apparently the truck should go through the SVA quite easily as there will be no headlight change just the fog light to sort out or so I've been told.

Better than here in Spain 40%, which is a real smack in the mouth.

I've been quoted £3,750 ish, to bring it from the states, all shipping (container) duties to America and English ports, servicing, SVA,registration, tax. valeting and dropping it down to me. I have to pay import duties direct. Does this seem a reasonable figure?

I used Boatwright in Essex for my corvette recently and they charged £3200 for everything you say door to door plus more SVA changes - new headlights, indicators etc. Sarah Boatwright very nice to deal with too. Import duty is 10% then VAT on top. Having said that got a very fair valuation from Customs due to exchange rate (£12k for a 03 C5 Z06).

iVE BROUGHT A FEW TRUCKS BACK FROM THE STATES
AND HAVE USED SCHUMACHER A FEW TIMES IAN JEFFRIES IS THE UK AGENT CALL WARREN AT THE LOS ANGELES OFFICE GENERALLY IT COSTS ABOUT $1600 FOR SHIPPING AND ABOUT £300 FOR UNLOADING AT THIS END.
EXPECT ABOUT A 2 MONTH WAIT BEFORE YOUR TRUCK WILL LEAVE THE US DUE TO SHIPPING DEMAND DUE TO LOW DOLLAR RATE, ALSO A CONTAINER IS THE ONLY WAY YOU WILL GET ANYTHING OUT AT THE MOMENT THE ROLL ON ROLL OFF SHIPS ARE NOT TAKING LARGE VEHICLES FOR THE FORSEEABLE FUTURE.
YOU WILL PAY 22% + VAT ON THE PURCHASE PRICE AND ALL SHIPPING COSTS.
THE SVA IS VERY VERY EASY FOR A PICKUP
AS LONG AS THE TRUCK IS STANDARD DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING!!!! SIMPLY GET AN SVA APPOINTMENT (LAST TIME I DID IT IT WAS £80 FOR A COMMERCIAL TEST) DRIVE THE TRUCK TO THE TEST. THE TESTER WILL CHECK THE STICKER ON THE DRIVERS DOOR SHUT.IT WILL SAY THAT YOUR TRUCK CONFORMS TO FEDERAL CODE WHATEVER IT IS.
ALSO IT HAS TYRE SIZES.
HE WILL WRITE DOWN THE CODE NUMBER CHECK THE TYRE SIZES MATCH WITH YOURS THEN HE WILL HAVE A 2 MINUTE CHECK AROUND THE TRUCK TO SEE IF EVERYTHING IS STANDARD (STILL US SPEC)AS LONG AS YOUR TRUCK HAS ABS THERE WILL NOT BE A BRAKE CHECK NO EMIISIONS CHECK YOU SHOULD BE OUT IN UNDER 30 MINS.
AFTER THE SVA YOU NEED TO FIT ORANGE INDICATORS,A REAR FOGLIGHT, INDICATOR SIDE REPEATERS THEN TAKE THE TRUCK TO THE MOT .
THEN SIMPLY FILL IN THE CORRECT IMPORT FORM FROM DVLA (ORDER THAT ONLINE NOW IT TAKES ABOUT 6 WEEKS TO ARRIVE)PAY FOR A TAX DISK AND THE REGISTRATION FEE £80? AND YOU ARE AWAY! EASY

JUST TO BE CLEAR ON A PICKUP YOU CHANGE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING FOR THE SVA
AFTERWARDS HOWEVER YOU WILL NEED TO PUT ORANGE BULBS IN THE REVERSING LIGHTS FOR INDICATORS AND A FOGLIGHT ON THE BACK FOR THE MOT
THE HEADLIGHTS WILL PASS AS THEY HAVE A FLAT PATTERN
DEPENDING ON THE FRONT INDICATOR POSITION (IF YOU CAN NOT SEE THE FLASHING LIGHT FROM THE SIDE)YOU WILL NEED TO FIT SIDE REPEATERS
