GT3 is getting picked up from a wheel refurb today and then onto the market this week.

Then the hunt for the perfect Z06 is really on. We've got a holiday booked in May which i'd like to take as a european driving holiday in the new car so i need to get my finger out.

I really like the look of this one if I can just get the Porsche sold before it goes to a dealer:

What do the assembled think?

Cheers,

Chris

Hmmm.. I don't think you are the only one thinking about that one! £45k and I reckon its yours...

Now if it was a red ZO6 you would be too late. I would have beaten you to it!

Hurry, I am currently emptying the spare change tub and rummaging in the back of the sofas. And I like it in yellow..... wink

Dear Mr Bank Manager.

I'd like a 45k bridging loan.... on a car.... pardon, no I don't speak Russian, what was that you said exactly, "pharkorf" - is that close to Moscow, or perhaps the bloke that bought TVR?

OK B15TTO, guess it's yours then.

It may not have done many miles....but did any of you notice who owned it?

Never ever buy a car from a race car driver!

IF someone wants a C6 Z06 then might I suggest looking on www.autotrader.com at the American ones as they are now between $50-$60k i.e. £25-30k at the current exchange rates plus your duty, vat and shipping so on the road here in the UK for less than £40K.

This car was given to Rob Huff free from Chevrolet europe I think Stratstones have some later cars for around the same money.

Free? Nice. Although i guess it would be considering he drive's for them!

Lots of Silver cars about but that's my least favourite colour.

For the Z / C6 owners on here. What are the options absolutely worth looking for?

Certainly Sat Nav for starters...(although those without will tell you otherwise...)

Is there much difference between the options? I think mine has them all, Sat nav side airbags etc.

Personal choice of course and not sure if you are including standard C6 here,
but for me the Z51 Performance package and head-up display were essential,
while I also find the memory package a great help.

As for the Sat Nav, I often use one on the dash as it's pre loaded with maps
for our routes, but I'm really glad I have the Corvette one also and leave it
on all the time.

It's easy to drive places and have no idea what is even around you, so having
an overview running without instructions is quite interesting.

Thakns for the reply Cuban. I'm going to get a Z06 - i didn't think the Z51 pack were an option on the Z?

I agree with people's comments on the sat nav - i use a dash mounted one currently but even with that I enjoy seeing what's actually around me or where I really am in a country (nearby villages etc).

Go for euro spec car - the sat nav and the rest of the bit abd bobs you get are well worth it.

Most importantly! - especially if you are new to Corvettes - get friendly with a good Corvette specialist, one who knows the cars, and all their idiosyncrasies.

Had a C5 2 years ago so not new to Corvettes but certainly know the value of having a good corvette specialist near by. Unfortunately there aren't any in the North East. May have to combine servicing etc when out of warrenty with trips down to the other half's parents who live near(ish) to Mr Goss I think - who seems to come highly recommended.

Don't forget that with the factory navigation it gives you directional instructions, road names and distances through the head-up display when it is in 'Street Mode'.
