Cars, TV shows, criticism and the Lotus Elise SC

I guess as owners of US cars in UK we have to be pretty thick skinned.
At the other end of the spectrum the Lotus community tends to be extraordinarily precious. So they just loved Jason Plato's review of the supercharged Elise on 5th gear tonight. Can't imagine many of them have seen the car yet let alone driven one. Have a look here

That's pretty funny
And that's just one show's opinion... Of course, not only do US cars over here get subjected to journalists stating cliches and oft out-of-date stereotypes [which then get repeated by the general public], there's also the factual inaccuracies like quoting US MPG figures and presenting them as the UK ones or as we saw recently, talking about the recent updates to the Corvette and showing pictures of the old model!
Oh, and let's not even get started on references to technology that have been on the Corvette for a number of years and then hailed as "new" on Euro cars a few years later and considered "surprising" that they should be fitted to something American!
