Now I know everyone is bored with debate about leaf springs, and I personally have had no problem with C5 or C6 handling and think it compares well with other supercars, in fact is more fun in many respects. I now only get mildly angry when I see UK mags moaning on about them as if they had even bothered looking under the car. Anyway...the thing that is really bugging me now is some of the UK reviews of the latest C6, ZR1 etc including TG online saying this:

"It should be more driveable than Corvettes of old, thanks to a Magnetic Selective Ride Control system, which works in a similar fashion to the Audi TT's magnetorheologic suspension - electronically controlled shocks are filled with fluid that reacts to magnetic charges for near-instant damper adjustment"

and

"Actually, there are a couple of surprising tech touches: you can now opt for Ferrari 599-style magnetorheological shock absorbers"

Well what bugs me is that I thought Corvettes had this first!! - and in fact guess where Ferrari and Audi source these wonderful things from.... Delphi of course!! In fact Delphi now supply that great Ferrari with A/C and all electrical systems as well as suspension!! Also reminds when BMW introduced revolutionary new heads up display in the 6 series.. a first ever apparently and only about 5 years after the C5!! When is anyone in the UK media going to open their eyes to how innovative and smart the engineering is at Bowling Green?

The MSN review of the C6 also bugged me as they moaned about the interior....yawn and they moaned about the MPG! When comparing the car with a Ferrari and a Porsche I think we know the winner......I get so pissed of with lazy journalist who don't realise that all the MPG figures for American cars are quoted in US MPG not Imperial MPG and if I could find an email address for the guy at MSN I would tell him so, but guess what no email address.....oh and he also moaned about no RHD version and running costs the guy is an arse.....banghead

It's funny you should mention this as I had a moan about the very same thing on the CCCUK site just last week.

Corvettes weren't actually the first to put it in a production car (that was done on a Cadillac in 2002 if I remember correctly) but the 2003 Corvette 50th Anniversary model was the first car to have it as standard fitment.

It annoys me when they should be saying of the Ferrari and Audi that they have "Corvette-style" magnetorheological shock absorbers.
