Sorry if this has been covered before but can anybody recommend a broker that knows about Vettes, and does good deals?? My 2003 C5 Z06 (now on its way across the Atlantic!!) is not modified and will be garaged, but potentially in a lock up so need a broker that uses common sense (I have had insurance companies refuse to insure if car not at home address even if in storage!!).

Also any ideas how much for fully comp for clean drivers? I'll be joining CCCUK.. Thanks.

Mark Abbott at Cheam Insurance tends to be a good guy to deal with.
020 86527733.
Other wise first point insurance are also good with imports. I think that Dean is the best guy to talk to.
He can get cover on pretty much anything for anyone if necessary. The last time he helped me out was on a brand new pearl white escalade that one of my guys sold to an 18 year old turkish student with a UAE drivers license!
He was a good freind of the late Mickey Bray.

Matthew - take a look here at the insurers who offer CCCUK members a discount:
http://www.corvetteclub.org.uk/member-benefits.php

I pay Stevenage £380 on my 2003 Z06 with all the mods declared. No requirement for a Thatcham alarm. Unlimited mileage.

So did I but their renewal quotes for both my vette and my Dodge Ram SRT-10 are ridiculous. More than double at £800 plus for the vette and £750 for the RAM....so I am on the hunt for a better deal.

Good point. I find with the Vette it's essential to shop around almost every year. They suck you in with a low starter premium and then ramp it up at renewal in the hope you can't be bothered to look for other quotes.

Now having two under 21s in the family both with cars the words "insurance premium" have a special meaning for me! Those insurers willing to quote at all seem to think nothing of proposing figures of £5,000 to £6,000 pa. Fortunately Direct Line have come to the rescue (again) although they won't give me a quote on the Vette at all!

I used A-Plan last year (for the first time) for my daily driver, after a 15 year period of driving company cars. Stonking deal, so went with them. At that time, they said to get back when I'd got my Vette and they could possibly wrap the 2 cars into one policy. Naively, I believed this

Now I'm looking for a Vette, they (A-Plan) have told me that they don't touch cars like Vettes that are valued over £15k. Fine, but I'm looking in the £20k bracket.

MCE - gave them all my details last week for a broad quote on a C5 in the £20+k price range. They were really helpful over the phone and said they'd call back. I called twice more to remind them that I was waiting - I'm still waiting......
