Is there a dedicated group of Vette owners going to Le Mans this year.Ther reason i ask is because up at the N.E.C a few weeks back,a fellow Vette owner said that on last years trip the UK owners were hosted by a french Vette owner that had a good campsite with showers and all the amenities.I have a look through the CCCUK mag and cant see anything relating.Any one point me in the right direction? And whats the costs likely to be.

Thanks in advance.Mark

Mark - it sounds to me like you're describing "Camp Corvette"
This is an area set aside for Corvette owners who have pre-registered with the European Corvette Club. It is organised by Gerard and Jean Luc. The registration forms will be out nearer the time but basically Camp Corvette is a fenced off, guarded area on the inside of the circuit at The Porsche Curves. We have toilets, a large marquee, food and drink and a viewing platform from which limited numbers can watch the race. In the past you could camp there as well. For our money we get entrance to the Camp with parking, use of the marquee, toilets and viewing platform. Food is extra including breakfast. Saturday night is a big do with prizes for the show and shine during Saturday afternoon and last year the drawing of the C4 raffle won by Phil Bennett from Sheffield. This year the European Corvette Club are raffling a new C6. We may get a lap of the circuit at around 12.00/1.00pm before the race (charitable donation required). A very few cars may be chosen to do the drivers parade in Le Mans town on the Friday evening. Camp Corvette is a must.

I can email you a copy of last year's booking form if you want to get an idea on costs.

Rob - who's going down in your group this year? We've got some first timers joining us this year - 10 Vettes mainly C5s including my old Ragtop - should be really good.

does the pope live in the woods?
