Also BS on the part of the dealer as I know that production doesn't start until July and I was told early August was the soonest the cars will hit the dealers.

I'm inclined to agree with vetteheadracer, especially knowing how slow the Rotterdam PDI guys are. They're in a time zone all of their own.....As yet the initial EU allocation has not been allocated to specific dealers so it should be interesting to see how it all pans out.

I agree with Mitch. Kroymans may have been given an allocation, but this will not have been communicated to any of the dealers, nor will there be allocated numbers to individual dealers yet.
Each European country will be asked how many cars they want, them GM will decide with Kroymans how they are split.
When I left Park Lane all of our letters of intent to order were passed to GMUK, but there still are no known vehicles to place them against.
If it is anything like the intial allocation of Z06 in 2006, then dealers will be looked on favourably if they buy additional volume of standard production cars (Cadillac/Hummer/C6...).
At one point the ratio was 1 Z06 for every 2 Escalades...

Mitch - Is Mr Slocombe with you yet?

Why James, I would have thought you'd spoken to Mr. Slocombe since he started with us?! We're very glad to have him too. How are Jaguars suiting you?

Such bartering practices have been going on with Manufacturers for decades and the ZR-1 will be no different. Time will tell anyhow. I might get all my friends to write letters of intent to buy a ZR-1 too James!!

David's far too busy to talk to me now that he has left the thrilling world of hyundai.
I'm enjoying Jag, but missing the interaction between folks that it inevitable when dealing with a niche product such as American cars.

I started taking letters of intent after speaking to Kroymans in Feb '06 about 'Blue Thunder' allocation and they said that no dealer group had taken an interest in the product yet, but the ones that made the most noise were likely ot get the largest allocation. I do not know how this will stack up now that GM are looking after the UK.

Hello James,

Sorry I haven't been ringing you as often as I used to. Bauer Millett is just like Stratstone except that the phones won't stop ringing and we're always having to talk to clients.
How is life at Burnham Tata and have you been mugged in Paddington yet?

Ooops! Sorry readers. Didn't mean to turn this mighty forum into Jennifer's diary.
Must be the influence of Park Lane now that he wears slippers, drinks Horlicks and sells Topaz X-Types to ladies with blue hair.
