Spotted that a few days ago... shame it wouldn't have a hope in Hell's chance of passing SVA!

Don't see why it wouldn't pass the SVA test as there is no emissions part to the test, just lights etc.

Emissions are tested as part of the standard SVA with a tailpipe sniffer, unless compliance with the 'Enhanced Requirements' can be proven. Does the C6 comply with the Enhanced Requirements? Also, it would fail miserably on such things as ride height (height of lights off ground, etc) and probably external projections. I'd like to import a heavily-modded C6 just like this, but my other thread on here garnered a resounding thumbs-down response when it comes to SVA. There have been several on here whose STOCK C6's have failed and they've had to appeal!

Cheers,
Ian.

Hi Ian,

All C6's are classed as "Enhanced" i.e. the only things that would need to be done would be lighting. This car would need washers for the HID fronts, plus a fog light at the rear and the other normal mods for an imported C6 but nothing extra just because the car is modified.

Ah, that's a bit of a revelation to me! Out of interest, did you import your Z06 in its current state of tune? What about things like ride height, external projections, etc? I'm thinking that a cat-back exhaust might fail on the tips and lighting tests may fail due to reduced ride height, for example? Also, not sure how things like a high-rise hood would fair?

Thanks for your help,
Ian.

I have always put stock cars through the SVA but you are right if you tried with external projections you are in for trouble which will be interesting as soon as someone tries to import a new Viper ACR for example the rear wing and also the front canards would probably need to be removed. Regarding lights and ride heights unless you were to lower the car to such an extent that the lights were below the legal heights you would be fine and anyway if you buy a car with adjustable suspension you adjust it up for the test then back down afterwards!
Can't see a high rise bonnet being a problem unless it is one of those '70's enormous ones!

I've been informed there's new tougher SVA rules being introduced in march, so best get any import sorted before then
