Hi all,

Has anyone fitted one of these? I have bought one for my Z06 and I would like to have a go at fitting it myself so i thought I would ask the easyest way to go about the installation.

It looks pretty simple, four bolts, but how is the interior dismantled to gain access to the shifter area? simple advise could save me a great deal of trouble and time so i am hoping for some help.

Regards

Instructions on how to remove the console here:

I bought a small set of mole grips to remove the gear knob which worked fine - just enough room to get them in. As I recall the only fiddly bit is the switch for the fuel flap which I forgot about until I tugged on the console and bits flew everywhere - went back together ok though.

Got the Hurst shifter a few weeks ago (look at the parts for sale on the CCUK web site) so will have a go at fitting it, will hold on if you fancy coming down soon ?

Got my new wheels as well !!!!!! not fitted yet only just arrived from the USA, so tyres and then i hope they fit. gone a little larger then normal but I am assured they will fit.

Will update with photo when fitted.

I see that for sale and thought of you, although you seemed happy with the gearchange, I have just received the front numberplate fillin panel so will have to change the registration and get a small fron plate, any pics of yours with the small plate yet ?
How was the holiday ?

Hi John,

Will get some photo's in the morning and post them on here and confirm the sizes.

great holiday, just what I needed ( my bank balance will not agree)

I was happy with the Manual gearchange but that seemed a bargain and I got a nice shinny KNOB as well !!!!!!

I had a shiny knob for mine, but replaced it as it got too hot in summer and was too cold in winter!

Fitting a quick shifter (B&M, Hurst etc.) makes the Z06 a much better car to drive and it should take about 40 minutes to change it.

the hardest part is removing the "devil" pin - took me an hour just to get it out !
However - worth the effort to fit the Quick shift
