Next time any of you blat down towards the chunnel be warned some new cameras have appeared on some of the overhead gantries around jct 5 and 6 of the M20 These are not ANPR and look identical to those used on the M25 varible speeed stretch.

I have just sent an e-mail to the surrey region thanks to tekwiz about new cameras on the M25 from Feb!

Does anyone know if these things are active? They where going off a good'un on the opposite side today (coast bound). The electronic boards where set to 40mph so everything going under got flashed between jct 5 and 6.

I've emailed our good friends at the Kent & Medway scamera partnership. I'll report back if anyones doesn't know sooner.

Hey guys, did any of you manage to get any answers back about these...

...I only ask as I went through these on Satuday around 6am, and probably over the speed limit, don't remember seeing any flashes from behind though...it was still dark and a little foggy...so would have seen the flashes...

As there are no calibration marks on the road yet I should think your ok

They'll be doing the variable limits like there is on the M25, here's a photo of the cameras:



They're not live yet, there's no warning signs and no road markings.

Yeah. Gov's decided that all it needs to do to solve congestion is have varible speed limits everywhere

I guess if they introduce lots of temporary speed limits, more chance of catching people speeding....kerching !!!!!
