I was wondering where vetteheadracer had got to. hehe
Maybe even Mitch's "40k over sticker" might be conservative after all. yikes

What a waste of time in a couple of years time in will be outdated by another model I think 100K is a lot for a car that looks so much like a Z06 anyway!

Great video - Dave Ressler looked like he'd buy it regardless of price. Interesting to note that the premium paid over sticker is tax deductable so he ends up saving moneyconfusedconfused

That car will be priceless in years to come. That's the way it is over there.

To be honest if you are concerned that it doesn't look different enough from a Z06 to warrant the price tag then it probably isn't the car for you. It's a subtle redirection, after all it isn't THAT much faster than a Z06, compared to a stock C6. But performance is exponentially more difficult to find in these cars and radically changing the shape of a car which has undoubtedly spent endless hours in a wind tunnel is not going to help them achieve a great deal. $40k probably is conservative to be honest. Luckily I'm quite happy that I've got a Z06 on the way and I'm just trying not to think about this one too much!!

Priceless, but considerably less than $1M I'll bet...biggrin

Tax write off doesn't mean it saves him money, just that he is giving it to a charity instead of the US government.

Apparently it is going to be a one-off Le Mans Blue one. I don't know why they are dropping the dark metallic blue.

Still waiting for Black Rose to make a comeback...

Really? Not in the first year, unless the economy is really tanking over there.

Most dealers have huge numbers of deposits.

Allegedly they do but I don't believe there are 2000 people with $140,000 waiting for a ZR1. There were the same scare stories about the Z06 a couple of years ago and they made no more than $7,000 over sticker and that soon dropped to list once they became available.

Well $7k over sticker is not sticker! And it took a good year before they were easily available at sticker.

I expect the ZR1 to sell for a crazy premium for the first few months, then rapidly drop to sticker once the wealthy hardcore Vette fans have all got theirs.

If you can get one for sticker soon after launch, let me know!
