I'm loading up some music ready for the next blast out in the Z06 and I was wondering... what kind of music do you listen to when out in the Vette ???

The obvious answer is a small block V8 - but all sorts really, from some modernish rock to some pretty pacey dance/electronica - latter not an aid to relaxed, calm driving...

... out of 3 out of 4 Bose speakers - must fix the driver door amp!

'Cause we all just wanna be big rockstars
And live in hilltop houses driving fifteen cars
The girls come easy and the drugs come cheap
We'll all stay skinny 'cause we just won't eat
And we'll hang out in the coolest bars
In the VIP with the movie stars
Every good gold digger's
Gonna wind up there
Every Playboy bunny
With her bleach blond hair
Hey hey I wanna be a rockstar
Hey hey I wanna be a rockstar

I listen to all the stuff the missus won't let me play at home - anything from Nine Inch Nails and The Young Gods to hard trance like Tiesto or Armand van Buuren.

Driving a Corvette through the English countryside with the roof off (OK, maybe not in January, granted) and your favourite music cranked up - is there any better way to get to work in the morning?

By the way, has anyone else noticed that the first pre-set on the "Auto Tone" button on a C5's stereo is "C/W"? Took my a while to work out that meant "Country & Western"! Either the designer had a skewed idea of the target demographic, or just a really good sense of humour. Yet another reason to love Corvettes though!

First track played when Atomic arrived in the UK was a Peter Frampton classic as
it seemed to be on the radio all the time while I was driving around Florida. smile

ZZ Topp, Led Zepplin, Joe Bonnamassa, Santana, LBC but only in my daily driver - for the real Vette enthusiast there is only one type of real music - the natural Vette music - headers, a 'rumpity-rump' cam and loud mofo kick ass pipes!

I think it's all gonna change. Just ripping all my stuff onto a network disk to use with a Squeezebox set-up.

Anyway, that aside, over the 3 days that I have been sitting in front of the computer, I have discovered some stuff that I have not heard for ages. Will be burning a few disks of rock and "ever so soft" compilation playlists for the Vette.

If you haven't already done it, find some time (lots) to get your CDs onto a hard drive, even if it is only iTunes and you will rediscover music the likes of which just isn't in general play today. Do them all in case you miss something.

Well, back to it. Only another 3-4000 tracks to go I guess .... F A N T A S T I C S T U F F !!!!
