Hehe, having lived out there they are quite mad on their 4x4's, I can quite believe the modified patrols!

No surprises here. As many Subaru, Mitsubishi and Audi drivers can attest 4WD traction is always going to be quicker off the line than a RWD sports car trying to put down mega-horsepower/torque at the rear wheels. Different matter when it comes to 100-150 mph though!

Yeah, but it's funny seeing a massive SUV catapult away like that! It had circa 1000bhp which it would need for its weight.

Can't help but thinkthe 4X4 lot (perhaps even the turbo 4X4 lot) are actually the winners here though, they're going to be the quickest A to B in all but either the driest or mentalist track situations most of the time. Discuss.

Well see the latest Nissan GT-R for details!

Although it weighs 1740kg and has "only" 480bhp, it has turned a Nurburgring lap time that beats the Z06 and other much more expensive machinery (and kicked up the most almighty fuss on the US Corvette forums!).

I particularly like GT-Rs because they handle like very well balanced rear wheel drive cars (and indeed are 100% RWD until they need some additional traction), unlike the Imprezas and Evos which are more traditionally 4WD.
