Not to pour oil as a non Corvette owner but its nearly the original not a replica by abou 98 %
Ah I'm glad to see that pedicism is not dead. True the body is an accurate replica and it sits on a shortened chassis, from a 1977 (if my memory seves me well). The original was built on a spaceframe chassis. This car is also an Auto whereas the original used a 4 speed Muncie. This copy, replica, call it what you will, was never meant to be an exact replica of the original racer but a fun and useable road car. I hope this clears up my clearly eroneous statement above and I thank Viper Paul for his comments on that statement.G
I was lead to believe that the owner was contacted by GM historical who asked if any numbers were present on the mould and there were.
Those numbers I was told mean its not just a replica body but in the fact the spare, which has changed the value of the project completely.
Or is this just a folk law story, but it was on our stand at the NEC and that was the story.
