Some time ago I posted re claiming for warranty work on directly imported cars from the US and stated that the claim could be and had to be pursued through the original supplying dealer!!!
Further confirmation of this fact now on the UK corvette club site.
I would pursue this route for significant mechanical claims, but probably wouldent bother for minor or trivial issues.

Yes, I know, but there are also other "guilt edge" insurance warranties available that provide single claim cover up to the value of the car, and a full 3 year cover can be obtained for <£800.These particular cover warrantiees are at least as good as Strats, but considerably cheaper. The devil in their detail is their strict servicing requirements, and its a fact that 60%+ of claims are rejected because of non-observance of these criteria, hence the cheap premiums.
The requirement is that the vehicle be serviced as per manufacturers/or per annual time scale whichever comes first, with an either 21 day/500 mile allowance.
