Looking for a C5
Discussion
Hi Guys
Sold my Cerbera a few months ago money starting to burn a hole in my pocket. Have a budget of around 20K and am looking for a C5 around 2000 ish.Recently driven an earlier drove nice ( great soundtrack )but was a bit scruffy. Where is the best place to look for a used model, keep looking on PH but not much around at the moment.
Cheers

Quite a few here:

Have to factor in the shipping, import duty, VAT and SVA though.
Alternatively try Dart Corvette, Claremont Corvette or Keith at Eurovettes or pick up a copy of Classic American magazine.
Good luck. I have a very major hankering for a C5. I did a great road trip in a Z06 in the US and was absolutely blown away by it.

Headlights, fog lights and rear lights I think. When you see one like this it is soooooo tempting:

I dont think you will find much better than Cubans.Loads of spec and a well looked after car by the looks of it.I would have had it myself,if i hadwaited till he got back in to the country.Sold my Cerbera a few months ago money starting to burn a hole in my pocket. Would it pay to import a older car, or is it only viable on new cars ? They look very reasonable priced. What is the difference between a Eurovette and a US vette apart from the fog lights.
Cheers
Eurovettes were I believe rated at 335bhp rather than 345 but that may be the exchange rate on hp, PS and bhp. The Eurovette wheels sit half an inch deeper into the wells to comply with Euro-rules and I suspect the original exhaust may have been more muted than the American one (well it was on the Z28...)Cheers
Speaking from experience of now 5 imports.
There is little or no price advantage to the importing of a car more than 2 years old, and certainly not a C5 base car.
There is possibly a slight advantage in the importing of a C5 Z06 based on their official absence from Europe, and the choice is greater.
"Chris Graham Corvettes" is a good source of high quality C5's
I imported an "02" Z06 with 3k miles and sold later for the same price of $32k plus shipping, plus duty, plus VAT and plus SVA
