Hello

My brother has just bought an LT1 and its just brilliant.The only down side is that the suspension feels a bit on the spongy side.Those any one know of a decent spring and damper up-grade at a reasonable cost?

coilovers will transfer the car (stop the mid corner hop on bumps but you may not be getting that if its that soft). You could just try some new shocks, if they are the originals on the car.

Suspension on these should not be 'spongy' -in fact the stock set up is normally criticised for being too hard causing the car to 'hop' on uneven roads.

Could be shot dampers, or a broken anti roll bar mount. Or it could even be that being a later car, they did soften the suspension as a reaction to earlier criticisms.
