Hi. I've imported a C5 (2004 model) into France and they won't let me register it unless I can tell them the E number that you find on the drivers door pillar, or perhaps on the door itself. It starts with an E digit digit*digit/digit*digit digit digit digit * digit digit. I don't know if these numbers are generic for all C5s or change with the year. Anyone out there no anything about this, and can anyone with a european spec C5 let me have the numbers on their car. Desperate to get the car on the road but can't until I register it. Thanks guys.

I don't think it will have E type approval, as I am sure thiis is only a European marking.

There will be several items on the carthat will have e type approval, but on the whole, it will not.

Thats why we need an SVA here in UK.
This compares USA standards and UK standards e type, and then when the standards are equivelent, then the MAC certificate is issued (SVA)
To do that, then several alterations are needed.
