That is one thing I hate about longer trips in the vette, I get out like I have run a half marathon. Twas the same in the old TVR I had too and is down to the leather seats I am sure, although on a hot day in the TVR you got constant warm air from the engine too. Even on colder days after about an hour or so driving my back feels warm, after an hour and a half my t-shirt is literally stuck to me and showing through. I have to bring a change of clothes with me. No sweat anywhere else just where my back touches the seat. Obviously much worse on hot days with the roof off, as few of them as there are! I guess I am a sweaty bugger, always pouring more on me whenever I am abroad. I think the problem would be much better if my back could "breathe"!

Mine is a 2000. Will it have heated leather seats? I did wonder if they could be on all the time if so! And is there any places that sell suitable replacement cloth ones? Or even covers to remove the leather ones and replace with cloth ones?

Also insurance is a funny one. I'm 27 with 10 years no claims. It's a second car with limited mileage and my first year, up in 2 weeks, of ownership it cost a bit short of £600 with MCE. With the postal strike being on they rang me yesterday asking if I wanted to renew. This year £860, huh!?

Try Adrian Flux...

To minimise your sweaty back try parking, or drive a TVR/Aston/P*rsche hehe

It was much worse in a TVR with the ever efficient hot or very hot air setting on the blowers!

Yeah they are going to be my next call. I won't start shopping round till a bit later as I have just signed the contracts to my new house should be moving in the next few weeks. Didn't quite get why being a year older, another years no claims would lead to a £260 rise! A bit more than inflation!

I you are concerned about sweating (even in winter) try a early big block car. You will have orifices sweat that you didn't even know existed!

I reckon leather seats are mainly about fashion, although very popular these days. I always order cars with cloth seats where possible, or ideally with "half leather". i.e. leather side bolsters but cloth on the main faces of the seat. It's cooler and you don't slide about. There was no suitable option on the Vette so full leather it is!

Leather sofa anyone?

Nah winter isn't so bad. It is mainly full sun top off driving, the car not me smile Or long periods of driving.

Yeah that's what I was hoping to get something like leather to the sides but a more breathable fabric to rest my back against.
