Battery ran flat on my c6. must have left some gizmos on. Jumped batteries with my 4 x 4 and it started o.k. Ever since then the CEL has stayed on. Don't want to buggar about with it so has anybody got any ideas what to do next. Another point, on a cat c V.W. car that has been repaired and been back on the road for 2 years, what %/cost would have to be taken off current value. I'm interested in getting it.

Thanks.

Jamie.

I believe that if you disconnect battery and bring both terminals together, this will remove the cel, alternatively you can zero all fault readouts via the dic control R side of dash.
When you re-connect of course you will need to reset the "opening self setting" of both windows, but this just involves raising, further lift of switch for 3 secs, and a further repeat.

I must have left it in reverse for the battery to go flat. Will disconnect battery for an hour or so then connect back to see how that goes. Read in the manual about re-setting the windows and it looks easy enough. On the other point of the cat c car. It is a 52 plate passat diesel with 46k miles on the clock. He wants £3850 for it.. worth it? confused

It's quite difficult to get decent insurance on a write off. Have you checked the potential cost with any companies?

have mini fleet policy with norwich union. they say it's alright 'tagging it on' about £400. I know there are some well repaired cat c and d cars running about but it is really difficult to price it as I am led to believe the seller repaired it his self with 2nd hand bits. it will only be a runabout really, more economical than the vettes.

Holy cr*p batman, is it worth that much if it's perfect? Sounds like the guy is an absolute thief if he wants that money for a Cat C car.

I'd be walking (make that running) in a direction away from that one!!!

I'll definately not be buying that then Robin. May go to auction for a £3k diesel runabout.
