Top speed in a C5 Z06 with headlights up ?

Hey chaps

do you think the pop up lights really effect the top speed ?
I'm hard pressed to get more than 165mph out of mine with the lights up
(haven't done a top speed run in the day time)

of course using the unrestricted autobahns

They're bound to. I remember Bristol saying that just not fairing in the headlights of the Fighter cost them 1.5 MPH in top speed, so erecting those dirty great rectangles must be more draggy. Wouldn't have thought it would have been 10MPH though.

that would be about right then - 165mph feels about terminal velocity with the lights up - mind you it's a slight uphill

Try turning them off and see if that makes any difference

Managed 169.4MPH on a standing 1.25 miles at Elvington a few years ago when my C5 Z06 was completely stock apart from a Blackwing air intake.
Quoted top speed for the C5 Z06 is only 171 whereas the Coupe has an alleged top speed of 176. Mr. Testicle managed 180 (not sure if that was GPS verified) in German in his coupe.
