You can purchase the Corvette Factory Service manual, sometimes called the 'Helms' manuals. These are big, thick manuals, thicker a phone book and basically cover more or less every task and exploded views of every part in the vehicle. There are also Haynes and Chiltons manuals.
I have found that these, coupled with a basic mechanical knowledge (and I'm no mechanic) allow you to perform the easiest of tasks... with ease. Oil changes and brake pad/discs etc. are very easy at home, and some more awkward jobs which at first seem daunting are - with a bit of patience - easy to get on with.
However, having said the above, this plus the fact that the Corvette is a generally mechanic-friendly car, means that any competent mechanic can do the job. My local garage - an independent place which specialists in MGs of all things - has done a number of bits of work, all excellent.
Therefore, the advice won't be so much to look for an American-specific garage, not that there's anything wrong with them, but mainly a competent and trustworthy mechanic.
But half the fun is doing some of the easy jobs yourself. No matter what experience, and I mean even if you have none, you can do a bit of work on your Corvette.

I believe Stratstone have or will shortly have a service facility in Edinburgh.
What sort of Corvette are you buying? - if it is of the C6 family then the general routine service requirements are not really demanding. A competent general service garage/ mechanic would manage fine.
I bought the GM C6/Z06 service manual just for reference, and though it is akin to a reissue of the Encyclopedia Britannica,it is amazingly comprehensive and covers every aspect of the car.
Well worth having it, if you plan to keep the car, and work on it yourself
