Plus shipping, duty and vat and SVA that will bring the total to at least a figure of £45k+/-, at which point there is still a saving, but you can buy an brand new 07 european spec with the 3 year warranty for £54k in Germany.
I dont know obviously what Strats current margins are, but their prices are becoming ever keener such that importing oneself is becoming less attractive, given all the hassle.

Hi there

Yes its a good buy.

Add 10% duty brings that too £35,400.26

Then add 17.5% VAT too that brings it too £41,595.31

On top of this you need to add shipping and SVA cost, shipping will cost between £1200-£1500 with insurance on a car of that value I believe then plus the SVA cost. Still fact is on the road in the UK delivered its still sub £45,000 which is excellent value for the kind of car the Z06 is. smile

The same concessions apply whther you are an US or UK citizen, with some qualifications.
UK citizens need to have been non-resident for 12 months, or at the very least have both owned and used the vehicle for 6 months prior to import.
Proof of both use and residency is usually asked for by "Gordon's representatives"
In days gone by, you had to have been both non-resident and have owned the vehicle for 2 years prior to tax free import, and not offer for re-sale for a further 2 years.
It is still a "concession" and open to local Customs and Exise interpretation, it doesent have the strength of law behind it.

Forgot to say that the previous calcs are inaccurate.
a, The 10% duty is added to the purchase price.
b, To the new total plus shipping is added VAT, (but only for the element of shipping that lies within UK territorial space), complicated isent it!!
c, Shipping costs ex Baltimore £500 plus local paperwork costs (more if a container is used) say now total is £42500 (ignoring shipping costs to east coast port of Baltimore).
d, Costs of getting from Southampton/Felixstow plus SVA mods/test £1500 plus.
Realistically, you will have to budget for £45k.
I have done this 4 times now, and it has never ever been exactly what I calculated, usually more.
When Strats were asking £52k for the convertible, and you could get one shipped for £37k was a good deal, but since then there has been a considerable reduction in the official selling price, such that the price advantages have been considerably reduced, given that the 3 year warranty is also probably worth £2k+
The price advantage of personnal import is now in my opinion marginal.
The main advantage of importation is both selection and availability.
Furthermore, this particular vehicle is a pre-owned one, and you have to be aware of what the UK trade values are.
I have a C6 coupe in Felixstow at this moment, but I rather think it will be my last import, Srtats prices are becoming more attractive and in all probability, will deal with them next time.
This is just my personal opnion.

I'm glad to hear it. Sounds that there is light at the end of the tunnel for Stephen to sell you a car!

If anyone is looking to buy a Z at the moment, please give me a call/email as we do have a couple in stock and I will do my best to try and get you into a UK car.

What will Brett say when you tie him up?
What will his mummy say when he doesn't come home for tea?

Confused? You will be after the next exciting episode of Park Lane!

You better get back to those hyundai getz with the free boot lights. I hear that they are in great demand, limited to a maximum of ten per customer!

Will Stratstone be importing the new Camaro next year?

I reckon that could be a great car if it is not overpriced over here.

Why was I asked for receipts by C&E for the trucking costs from the dealership in New York to New Jersey docks.
I paid VAT and tax on it, I was quite miffed !
