Best price/performance and stock feel is an LS7 clutch.
Works for me on my 2000 LS1 Holden. I think they are around $400US flywheel clutch etc.

I have a SPECS Stage 5 in my power mad C5 Z06 but they do a range of lower spec (sic.) ones which would fit, most of the US Corvette aftermarket vendors sell them. Changing the clutch is a nightmare job on a C5 as you need to drop the rear axle to remove the torque tube from the clutch which is in the bellhousing at the back of the engine.

yep i noticed what a crappy job changing the clutch would be come that point the last time it was up on the ramp !
Won't be doing that one myself wink

I've just going through clutch fluid changes - to see what difference that makes (if any)

well when i said I've changed the fluid I've simply flushed it through by emptying the reservoir and refilling it multiple times until the fluid was clear - but it's only half a job - need to do it properly

It's a job that most of us 'spirited' C5 drivers have to do regularly rolleyes Some would say "design fault"...

design fault it is then - i can't get do a proper change so i'll keep flushing the system as much as possible

still feel that the standard clutch just isn't up to the job really - i've never burnt out a clutch before on anything else

Textralia OZ700.....

Anything else is just silly smile

Pedal is very light, it pretty much feels like standard, drives like standard...and seen me to more than a few low 10sec 1/4 mile passes, as well as countless slower runs, and about 6000 road miles before I got a bit daft and fitted a triple plate Textralia

The OZ700 is by far the best clutch I have ever owned. When I did remove it ( was upgrading tranny at same time ) it was barely just broke in.

I personally would not fit an aluminium flywheel, or any form of lightened up flywheel given a choice.

Nice strong steel every time ( although early Tex's just used a standard flywheel....they say it isnt, but it looked like one, but who knows...all I know is it worked perfectly )

Thanks Stevie

I'm just ordering one now - there's a billet flywheel - whatever than means and I think I'll replace the master cylinder as well

Billet is a solid piece of steel as opposed to a cast iron item. Billet's denser and far stronger.

If i`m not to late, you may want to get the remote slave bleeder hose.Makes bleeding the clutch a lot easier
