Hey all,
Which do you thing is the better 'vette to buy.
Given the choice of 2 very similar age and milage 'vettes,
Would you look at the US imported vehicle as better, or the Euro vette,
as it does not have the oblong lights / reflectors in the rear bumper,
or the front towing eye,
and bad English winters (and summers)

what do you recon.?

Graham

I'm biased but I'd prefer the US import for both looks and price

Those euro foglamps... vomit ... just a personal opinion smile

I imported mine personally from the US. SVA was straightforward, price was excellent, even after tax/shipping etc, and so much more choice in the US. Great experience too.

US import gets my vote if you can live with a useless stock radio. They look better without the Euro rear fogs and also the front wheels stand out further within the wheel arch which gives a better appearance.

Well, from the few replies, it is as I thought,
The Euro 'vette is not as popular as the US 'vette.

I did not know about the front wheels?
Just what is the differnce?

I for one was out off the Euro vette for the spoiled back-end.
I was also concerned about the miles that were on the cars, I couldn't find any with less than 10k on the clock.
Like has been said before,
The SVA is really quite easy, when you have read Lusifer's method statement !

Absolutely, but can't be bothered to fit it. I may be at The Fairmile tomorrow - PM me or we can talk there

The C5 Eurovette (which is what I assume we are discussing)had wheels that sat 1/2" further inboard than the US Vette. I assume this was using different wheels only and I assume to pass some obscure Euro legislative provision. It only takes one look to see the US Vette fills it's bulges better. I never had a problem with the radio but always listen to odd frequencies anyway (Radio 2, 1 and local radio in Wales) so it was never an issue for me.

I hate the rear fogs inset into the bumper and I also hate the long Euro plate aperture. A Eurovette means you have to fit UK size plates too whereas a US Vette can make use of S.14A Vehicle Excise & Registration Act exemption to use the 12 x 6 number plate at the rear and motorcycle size font with a commensuartely small front plate.
