As I said on the other post, available here in New Zealand.
(If a car is over 20 years old, that is also exempt. Plenty of 84/85 C4's cropping up for sale.)

All LHD cars need converting, usually in Australia, upon import. However if its a personal car, owned and used overseas, it can be brought in LHD. Wish I bought my C5 to NZ. (If a car is over 20 years old, that is also exempt. Plenty of 84/85 C4's cropping up for sale.)
They are a very expensive conversion, some think my pocket wouldn't let me do.
However, I understand that in S.A. you can not register a care for use on the roads there, later than 2000 year.
As they drive on the same side as us, the only way to get NEW stuff there is to have it converted.
There was a loop hole, i think it still exists, that you can register your post 2000 LHD in Namibia, which is an adjoining country, and simply drive it in S.A. on the Namibian foreign plates.
Otherwise, it has to be a tempory import.
I beliebe they are actually converted in N.Z..
