I have just received the following e-mail from Shelley, the lady who's Mustang was used in the Saxondale series.
Due to passport/visa issues I'm not going to get to Le Mans this year. Gutted, absolutely gutted, and in order to reduce the pain I feel, I'm trying to recoup what costs I can. If you or anyone you know may be interested, please please ring or email to discuss.
Either trying to move on the entire package (ferry, hotel, tickets, car parking), or find someone who would like to go as a passenger with Clayton (my brother).
Originally Clay was going to be my co-driver in the Mustang, in convoy with Simon (my boyfriend) and his brother in the Corvette, and meeting up with friends in another Mustang once there, plus a whole bunch of other fun folk in sexy cars.
The first choice really is to find someone to go with Clay (in his Ford rather than my Mustang unfortunately!!) and pick up my share of the costs. However, if it turns out that we can find someone to take the whole package, then that is an option too. Details as follows:
Return ferry ticket
Portsmouth-Caen (only 90 minutes drive from the circuit)
Ferry departs Portsmouth Friday 15 June at 08.45 (arrives 15.30). The return is at 17.00 on Monday 18 June (arrives 21.45).
Price: £237 for regular car (5m x 1.83m) and two passengers. This is what I paid for it. Any additional charges for changing names or postage I will cover.
There is a cabin booked on the ferry ticket for the outbound journey at a cost of £20 but this is optional as Simon will happily use it.

Also available is a reserved space in White car park (£36), GA ticket x 2 (£54 each) and access to Motor Racing International hospitality area (£75 each). Obvioulsly if the lucky taker passengered with Clay it would only be one of each ticket!!
The hotel booked is around 50 km from the circuit (Campanile hotel in Laval) and is Euro 52 per night per room. This is the only part of the trip I can cancel and get a refund on!
