Just picked the car up -2001 z06.

The car will go like smoke, but after a full throttle run, it can then run rough for a few seconds, like it isn't firing properly.

Its only got a few thousand miles on it, anyone had this happen?

I can't help with the problem but I have replied to your query on the CCCUK website.

Very sorry to hear you've had a problem so soon into your ownership. If it was dealer supplied I'd get them to sort it asap (would your car be yellow with about 10k miles on it by any chance??)

Quite likely just a plug leads or plug etc. Some guys also get dodgy coils.

Yes, yellow one!

Thanks for the replies. I have come from owning a Cerbera where I knew where everything was and how it worked to being a total idiot without a clue.

Someone with a scanner can read the codes for you. The codes are easily deciphered to help pin point the issue.
You can get a good scanner that can be upgraded into a tune tool for just over a couple of hundred quid. For the enthusiast its an excellent investment.

Is this an OBD2 scanner? They seem to be selling them in the states for $50 or so...

Yeah you just need a compatible obdii scanner. Just make sure its CAN protocol and supports GM stuff not the older VPW protocol which was for the pre 05 vette's.
I was talking about an full featured engine logger like efilive really. It does more than a code scanner, but it depends what you want.
