Hey all,

Been looking on the web and there seem to be a fair few manufacturers offering performance mods for the corvette (as with most I suppose). Was just wondering what the best, ie most HP gain, starter mods are? I was thinking airfilter , vortex cold air rammer is what I have seen, and exhaust,Corsa/Borla, at first.

I have also seen the Predator gadget which looks alot like the bluefin thingy that superchips offer but not sure if this is available for the LS7 yet?

Would appreciate the input from those that have already done this kind of thing. I'm not really looking to spend loads (lingenfelter) but do want to up power while still being able to drive on the road.

Thanks!

Tom

Hi Tommy, how long have you had the Z06? Best colour BTW! wink

The absolute first mod you should make is the Mild 2 Wild remote exhaust control. Allows you to open the valves at your discretion, i.e. all the time except when cruising in 6th! (Gets a bit droney otherwise).

http://www.nakidparts.com/id25.html and the guy ships to the UK for the same cost as to the US, which is amazing.

As for power mods, have a look at http://forums.corvetteforum.com/forumdisplay.php?f... , they have a ton of modding input there.

The latest must-have is either the Halltech "Killer Bee" or K & N CAI intake. Both seem to actually liberate some more power without having to re-tune the ECU.

Corsa is the preferred exhaust brand, although B&B do a Fusion system that still uses the existing switchable valves that could be the best solution.

As you live in the land of no speed limits, what is the fastest you have had out of your car?

Mild to wild thing looks good, I did take out the fuse but the drone in 6th is not the best, especially if you try to talk to the passenger!

Had the car since August last year, there was a black one and a yellow one next to each other in the showroom, black looked much more menacing!

Cheers for the link, have to check out that later.

Oh and top end i've had so far is about 165 but its a bit scary at that speed since we don't even have dual carriageways let alone a motorway!
