Take your pick!

All I've seen in UK are the standard Delco PF46 or the Fram equivalent.
If you look on Ecklers or Midamerica you'll probably find $12 filters from K&N, Mobil 1 etc but I'm deeply skeptical as to whether they make any difference.

I swapped teh 13/16" threaded stud in the sump to M20x1.5

Now there are plenty of UK filters that fit. Im using a Purflux/citroen filter, circa £2 or so lol

No dealers here !!!!

Does the Aussie sump use a M20 thread for the filter, or does it uas a 13/16" like the US sumps ?

My Camaro sump is tapped female M20x1.5, but the yanks slap in a M20x1.5 to 13/16" male to male adaptor, obviously as most filters in the US are imperial.

hence I changed it to M20x1.5

Try Amsoil filters. Check their web site for comparisons.

I was skeptical before and that price confirms it!

So tinker,

Is the oil filter for the Monaro, 20mm thread or imperial?

Also is it 4.00 pounds or what?
as the other forum member says it is a lot more ?

I would guess the Aussie Holden version is metric.

I would say the US version, the GTO would be 13/16, same as the corvette, camaro etc etc.

But I would also add, that ALL the sumps are tapped M20x1.5 with the various adaptors screwed into them.

So its very easy to change from the 13/16" adaptor to a metric one, which simplifies sourcing a filter, as well as reducing the cost.

Hi Steve, When you say all the sumps are tapped M20, have the American engine builders simply screwed in an adapter to suit their 13/16 filters, and is it simply a case of, when I next have the filter off, then also to remove the adapter nipple, and replace it with a M20 adapter nipple.
Can this be done without removing the sump?

JM, have you tried our parts department? Looking at the last invoice that I had on my desk for a C6 Z06 filter it was only £7. Give Steve Talbot a try, 01908 288658

Correct.

It can be removed. Dont recall exactly what size, but its a pretty big Allen key required, and some heat might do no harm, as its bonded in also. it will be tight. Best to use a socket style Allen key along with a big ratchet or breaker bar.

I got my new adaptor from Earls when I was trying to source a take off for a remote setup. They couldnt supply me with a setup that would fit in the tight space of the OE sump, that matched the 13/16" thread.
So they suplied the M20-M20 adaptor instead.

I never did get around to fitting a remote cooler or filter though.

The filter Im using is a Purflux LS923 ( LS923 ) Citroen fitment

Thanks Steve, i think it would be a good route, then no more expensive imperial filters.

price is one aspect...easy access to normal service parts is another.

Taper seat plugs are a bit of an oddity here too....

I use Subaru fitments in mine lol taper seat really not required.

I bought a geniune GM one from Monkfish performance for about £6. They probably stock corvette compatible bits too.
