You are of course all invited to this!

The Vmax will, as far as I am concerned, be as many runs as you can fit in with everyone else who'll be doing it. Wil let you know if Jim says otherwise.

Does the layout at Dunsfold allow a Vette be VMAXed on a 2km (1.25 mile) strip? My old girl takes a bit over 12 sec for a standing quarter so could be off the end of the runway after another 25 sec without even allowing any braking zone. Guess the question becomes how the lead-in and lead-out are set up although from the aerial photo it looks tight.

There's a good aerial image available on multimap although you need to zoom in from this link and switch to photo to see it from this link,

given braking distances I'd guess you have approx a mile to accelerate in, will get some decent speeds but doubt you will get anywhere near topping out.

You'll get to a bit above 160 on that length of straight but you'll need quite a few miles of clear and reasonably straight road to hit the absolute maximum. Have a look on YouTube for the McLaren F1 and Bugatti Veyron maximum speed tests to see how long it really takes to get a car up to its full potential !

I have a C5, and I would think you need a good 2 ~ 3 miles to get to the Vmax.
I take the 5th.
Getting to 160 ain't that difficult, 5th again, its the extra 15 that seems to take the time.
On a 1 mile strait, just for acc. you won't be anywhere near Vmax,
